VHS and Camcorder Tapes $20 per tape
I manually clean each tape carefully to remove dust or any mold (which is quite common after many years) before recording digitally. This also includes any basic editing if there are any lengthy blank or "blue" spaces on the recording or if there are multiple events on a tape notated on the label.
8mm and Super 8 Film Reels $20 per 50 feet of film
8MM and Super 8 Film Reel Sizes by Diameter
3" reel = 50 feet
4" reel = 100 feet
5" reel = 200 feet
6" reel = 300 feet
7" reel = 400 feet
Again, this service includes manually cleaning each reel carefully to remove dust and mold and to detect any significant damage before recording digitally. I also make any basic repairs if necessary, as old splicing becomes weak after decades of storage. Basic editing is included in the price of this service as well.
Photos, Slides and Negatives $0.50 per photo (bulk pricing available)
All picture formats are scanned at 300 dpi unless instructed to scan at 600 dpi or higher. Additional editing is also available but is not included in the original scanning price. Higher dpi scanning is not included in bulk pricing. Additional editing and bulk pricing can be discussed at initial consultation.
Cassettes and Vinyl $10 per Unit
Most of us can recreate our mix tapes with playlists these days, but if you remember the 70s and earlier, many events were recorded on cassette tape or vinyl. Or if you're like me and listened to those mix tapes recorded from the radio over and over, there's nothing like hearing your favorite DJ's voice from yesteryear one more time. At any rate, this service is also available. Coming soon, reel-to-reel audio conversion.
Storage Media First item free,
$15 for each additional unit
I prefer to use a USB drive or SD card storage device to store memories, but I can also use a dvd. The first storage item comes free with your order. If you need more than one copy, each one is an additional $15. I do not offer a cloud-based storage option at this time. All archives are stored on a local external hard drive for up to 6 months at no additional charge in the event that the original USB drive or SD card is lost or damaged. There is a $15 charge to replace the archive. If you do not want your archive stored after the project is finished, I will delete it. No one else will have access to your content.
